Abstract
This study's aim was to investigate the implementation of the individual education plan for learning support among Senior Primary Phase learners in Outapi Circuit, Omusati Region. The research was conducted using a quantitative approach and focused on the following goals: firstly, to assess the implementation of the Individual Education Plan for Learning support among senior primary phase learners in Outapi Circuit, Omusati Region. Secondly, to identify the existing gaps in the implementation of the Individual Education Plan learning support among senior primary phase learners in Outapi Circuit, Omusati Region. Lastly, to recommend strategies that can be used to improve the implementation of the IEP among senior primary phase learners in Outapi Circuit, Omusati Region. In order to provide insight into the implementation of the IEP in Outapi Circuit Senior Primary Schools, questionnaires with closed-ended questions were used for data collection. A simple random sampling technique was utilised for drawing the participants from each stratum (school). The total number of participants (from grades four to seven, teachers and principals) in the Outapi Circuit was 93. There were numerous roles for teachers and principals in this study as well. Findings from the study showed that poor implementation of the individual plan by the teachers and principals has an impact on school performance. It was then concluded from the research that, in order to improve schools and mitigate the educational disparities that are detrimental to educational progress, various educational strategies have to be employed to help with the effective implementation of IEP in schools. Furthermore, the ministries have designed policies on individualised learning in order to improve the learners' academic performances. Additionally, the ministry will train the educators in the use of various assessment models, as well as putting an IEP monitoring system in place.
